I have to apologise for the extreme lack of activity on my blog in recent weeks. Now I can finally share the reason with the whole world... I'm pregnant! And for the past 5 weeks or so I have spent most of my time looking down the toilet. I'm starting to finally feel a bit human again...
It's been a struggle for us. I was told in May 2008 that I had started my menopause (at 39!!) and there wasn't a hope of me producing my own eggs. So we started on the long and financially crippling road of IVF and egg donation. The third attempt worked and thankfully all is going well. I realise we are incredibly lucky - I've heard some real horror stories of 9 or 10 attempts and counting!!
So now I can focus a bit on the months ahead. One of my first baby projects will be this beautiful mobile from spool.
You can select the pattern for the bird under their 'Free Pattern' menu on the left.
And I love this Lizzy House fabric from A Fabric Outlet
I'm going to try and be a bit more productive here from now on, so see you very soon!

Congratulations! I have 3 sons and with each one the morning sickness got worse. The last one it was morning noon and night for 16 weeks! Not pleasant but you forget about it as soon as it stops and then have fun! Those birds look so cool, might have to try some! Thanks for the links! Have a lovely Christmas and New Year! xxx
ReplyDeleteoh my god, a baby!!! :-D

and i hope the nauseas and all that crappy part of pregnancy is gone.
and i hope that you'll keep writing about it, it's such a happy time!
Félicitations!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have this little life inside of you... I am sure it is the greatest joy of all. And lucky you, you will be able to make all the lovely littles baby stuff.
Congratulations, what wonderful news for you. I hope the worst part of the pregnancy is over for you and you can enjoy your Christmas and New year without feeling too ill.
ReplyDeleteOh Leanda, congratulations!!! How exciting for you both! My doctor always told me that morning sickness was a good thing because it meant your body was producing lots of pregnancy hormones. I don't know if that is true or if he was just trying to make me feel better! lol My best to both of you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulation! Now you can start your baby knitting. Such fun.
ReplyDeleteMaravillosos !!!!. Fperezajates.
ReplyDeletewoohoo ! congratulations Leanda !
ReplyDeleteI'm super extra happy for you !!!
Sorry you had to go through the hard way + morning sickness.
We had troubles conceiving as well, but pregnancy was like being on a little cloud. Now at 39 I doubt there will ever be a second child, esp when my DH think we're too old (thanks darling !)
Please take good care of yourself : ) big hugs !
I discovered your blog a few months ago (I am teaching myself crochet)and it was such a lovely surprise to come back today and read that you are pregnant. Congratulations! I wish you all the best.
